THE LIGHTHOUSE AT SANIBEL

Ecclesiates 3:14

"I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him."

From the causeway leaving Sanibel, we have a clear view of the lighthouse, operating there since 1887. In early days, the lamp was lit with oil, today an automated beam. Even with the change in technology, it has but one task - to provide the light to point the boats into safe harbour. Through fog, storms, or starlit nights. In every season.

That is what my work should be doing, pointing the way to God, my safe harbor. No matter the advance in technology at work, everything I do has that one primary purpose.

And even when the timing is not quite to my liking, when my life is foggy or down right stormy. The secret is found in lining up my work with God's, for it is God's work that lasts.

Can I be that constant in the workplace? My light shines for God when I keep Him in sight.
